As you can probably tell from the title (I know, it's incredibly creative), I've never tried blogging before. It seemed like a fun thing to try, not that I have ample amounts of free time, but still!
Anyway, my name is Layla, and I'm a seer. I know, that sounds fascinating, but shh, it's a secret. Sort of. Even more interesting than that, which I know is hard to top, is my job. I'm day person to Eric Northman (@SheriffNorthman), vampire and Sheriff of Area Five of Louisiana.

I'm also his bonded and, as he likes to put it, his lover. I know, I'm a very lucky little seer. We have a complicated relationship that I'm pretty sure defies any attempt to define it. For any who'd like to try, we have keys to each other's places, and he has a drawer at mine (he offered me one at his last time I was there a couple days ago, I just haven't been back yet).
I have a little yorkie puppy, named Ares. Yes, I named him after the Greek god of war. If you saw him bark at and try to attack the neighbors, you'd see why. He's a ferocious little guy.

I live in a really nice apartment on Lilac Lane that was recently redone for me as a birthday present from my mom, while I was in Vegas with Eric. It was purple before, and for some reason, he hates purple. Go figure.

My powers are pretty great, when not getting me into trouble. Being kidnapped sucked, in case there was ever any doubt. Really recently, like a matter of hours ago, I actually made a slight alteration to my gift. Normally it's really hard for me to see vampires, something about their thought signature is tough to read, but since I've become bonded to Eric so deeply, I can see him pretty easily. It's really inconvenient for both of us. So, my mom (I come from a long line of seers) left a necklace her for my birthday, seeing that I would need it, and recently explained that if Eric and I both activated it with our blood, I'd be unable to have visions of him.

Now, whenever I wear it, I won't be able to have visions that revolve around him. I think it'll be good for both of us. I don't want to know everything he's up to any more than he really wants me knowing. My job is pretty amazing, if really demanding. Basically, I do everything Eric needs done during the day. That includes stuff like buying him flip flops to booking flights to contacting people with important messages. To clarify, since Pam always gets confused, no, I do not work for Fangtasia. I have never worked for Fangtasia. I just work in Fangtasia most of the time.
For as much work as I have, I also have a pretty great life outside it. Aside from time with Eric, which is as great as you could possibly imagine when someone's not threatening our existences, I spend time with my friends whenever possible.
The guy I've been friends with the longest time, way before I started working for Eric, is Claude Crane. He's a fairy, in every sense of the word.

He's an entertaining bitch, Claude is. I adore him. I think I'm one of the few people to have that opinion of him, though. He, along with his two triplets, run Hooligans, a strip club that my other best friend works at, but I'll get to her in a minute. He and his sisters are princesses, and yes, I say that intentionally.
Once upon a time, he had a crush on Eric's Deputy, Roman Lucious.

But he seems to have gotten over it, thankfully. He has the strangest taste in men, though I guess other people have found Roman equally attractive, since he and my other best friend just broke up.
My other best friend is Lacey Tackett, or as she's better known, LT.

She's a pretty amazing girl. Our friendship started since we both spent a lot of time in Fangtasia, but we started this workout pact together (I've been teaching her yoga, she's been teaching me strip/dancing and belly dancing, and we kick box and run together), and now we spend a ton of time together, and now she's even moving two doors down from me. Fun, right?
I usually have a lot of trouble forming really deep friendships with people because of my gift. When you can see what's going to happen to a person, it makes it hard to let friendships develop naturally. Since moving to Shreveport, though, I've met a lot of amazing people who are worth the effort, and I'm sure to meet more.
I guess I should probably get out of bed and get to work, tempting as it is to stay in here with Eric all day. Even dead to the world, he's sexy as hell. *sighs*
Thank you for reading, and I'll blog again soon!
